Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool LIVE score updates as Greenwood equalises after Salah goal

Man Utd host Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup a week on from their goalless draw in the league.
Manchester United take on Liverpool for the second week in succession, this time in an FA Cup fourth round encounter (5pm UK time kick off).
After drawing 0-0 with Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend — a game in which Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes spurned big chances to seal a United win — Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side can be confident of going one better this afternoon.
United overcame Watford at Old Trafford in the third round and again have a home draw, albeit against much stronger opposition.
Donny van de Beek is handed a rare start, while Dean Henderson comes in for David de Gea in goal, and Victor Lindelof returns after missing the win at Fulham with a back problem.
United team: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba, Van de Beek; Greenwood, Rashford, Cavani
Subs: De Gea, Telles, Tuanzebe, Fernandes, Fred, James, Mata, Matic, Martial

Shaw’s first half in numbers
He’s been superb, especially going forward.
Engaging stuff
No wonder the BBC pundits look delighted on the sideline. This has been a pulsating game of football so far, though United might feel like they should be ahead.

KEY EVENT
Half time
One minute of added time at the end of this half.
Rashford uses his pace to get behind the Liverpool back line but United cannot fashion a good enough opportunity for Pogba. 1-1 at half time, an enjoyable half of football.

Shaw virtuoso stuff
Shaw again creates havoc down the left, Van de Beek playing him in, with Alisson parrying. McTominay’s rebound was blocked too.
United the better side as we approach first half added time. 42 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Pogba wide
Pogba close with the free-kick opportunity, almost Beckham-esque.
Just wide, but United continue to create chances.41 MINS, 1-1SAMUEL LUCKHURST
Not good from the referee
United probing with more patience now.
Henderson suggested Van de Beek ‘stay down’ earlier and it is worth getting VAR involved because referee Craig Pawson has forgotten his cards. If the referee got a half-time rating it was barely be above 0/10.
United have looked energetic throughout, despite the odd defensive lapse and Luke Shaw is a revelation on corners. United keep connecting with his centres and are due testing Alisson with a header.
Ah, Pawson has found his yellow card now.
Fabinho finally gets a booking as he fouls Greenwood. This is a decent free-kick chance.

Another header goes over
Shaw and Rashford are combining superbly down the United left. That’s the first choice combo there, as Shaw wins a corner on the overlap.
Another corner-kick is sent into the box and another header goes over the bar. This time from McTominay. 35 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Pogba chance
Shaw took the United free, kick which in turn led to a corner.
Pogba meets it but heads over the crossbar. That was a chance. 34 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Thiago foul
Again, referee Craig Pawson does not book a Liverpool player, as Thiago fouls Rashford as United broke down the left.
That will be a United free-kick.
33 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Both teams carrying threat
Liverpool, to be fair, have responded well to United’s equaliser. Salah looks quite sharp for the visitors.
You still feel like United carry an equally big threat in attack, though. 32 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Up and down from Pogba
The midfield two is certainly getting a big test today.
30 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Liverpool pressure
Marcus Rashford is enjoying himself this afternoon. United need to get it left to him when they can.
Maguire gives the ball away cheaply as Liverpool apply some more pressure.
28 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Penalty appeal
Is this a United penalty?
VAR says not, but United certainly thought Van de Beek had been fouled. 26 MINS, 1-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Great goal
United are back in it, almost straight away.
Liverpool were threatening a second but a Pogba challenge, a Van de Beek pass and then a raking Rashford ball set up Greenwood to finish brilliantly. KEY EVENT

Need control back
Fortunately for United the free-kick comes to little. Way over from Alexander-Arnold.
United need to focus on regaining control of this match. Rashford is down.23 MINS, 0-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Dangerous free-kick position
McTominay hasn’t had a great start to the game, giving away a silly foul on the edge of United’s box. Liverpool free-kick. 22 MINS, 0-1DOMINIC BOOTH
United rocked
United have been rocked a touch by the goal. You couldn’t really say Liverpool deserved it, but they punished the poor defending.
United have to plug the gaps in midfield. Curtis Jones shoots but Henderson saves easily.

That goal will hurt Solskjaer
Liverpool had threatened to expose United down the flank in the first minutes of this game but the manner of that goal will smart for Solskjaer.
Lindelof’s body position is all wrong and that corridor between him and Shaw that Firmino found was too wide. Shaw had the vigilance to tuck in and shadow Salah but then the ball got through.

19 MINS, 0-1DOMINIC BOOTH
Sucker punch
One pass was all it took. United undone at the back far too easily.
Salah ghosted into space, Shaw and Lindelof didn’t track him and it was a chipped finish over Henderson. A sucker punch for United.KEY EVENT
Liverpool lead
Salah scores. 1-0 Liverpool.
17 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
United corner
Good work from Marcus Rashford to win a corner from United. Persistent stuff as the counter-attack proves to be productive today. 16 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
Beware the press
United have to be careful of the Liverpool press. The turquoise shirts are moving quite high up the pitch when United have it.
Pogba has made a quietly assured start on the ball.

14 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
Greenwood wastes another
Salah’s shot is blocked and Cavani then does well to lead United’s counter.
Once again Greenwood goes for a shot instead of looking for a pass, but hits the side netting.

Solskjaer not happy with VDB
Solskjaer just admonished Van de Beek for killing that counter-attack there. It was a very strange decision given how far into Liverpool’s half he was. Van de Beek has actually started slickly but he didn’t help himself there.
United are ensuring Liverpool don’t get too far beyond their penalty box line so far. 12 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
Checked counter
Alexander-Arnold gets to the byline and puts a dangerous ball across United’s six-yard line, Henderson helped to palm that away.
United need to turn and break into space when they can, instead of checking back as they’ve done once or twice.

10 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
Decent 10 minutes
Craig Pawson is today’s referee, by the way. Maybe he should have done more then reprimand Milner.
Greenwood might have released Van de Beek there instead of shooting as United carve out a good opening.
But United are keeping the ball quite nicely. They’ve shaded the opening 10 minutes at Old Trafford.
8 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
Odd decision
It was odd the referee played advantage and didn’t book Milner there. play should have really stopped.
7 MINS, 0-0SAMUEL LUCKHURST
Milner challenge
Shaw has started excellently again against Salah, who was robbed of the ball and United broke down the left. Since then, United have been on the front foot after that iffy opening.
Milner has to be booked for that foul on Maguire. He has that snide side to him. Fernandinho possibly inherited it from Milner at City. 6 MINS, 0-0SAMUEL LUCKHURST
Better from United
Slightly better on the ball from United in the past minute or so, Rashford trying his best to run at Alexander-Arnold from the left.
United taking a firmer grip on things.
5 MINS, 0-0TYRONE MARSHALL
Shaw continuing form
The corner is cleared.
Luke Shaw looks to have picked up where he left off last week. As soon as the pass went into Salah on halfway he was snapping at his heels and the intensity of the pressure meant the Liverpool forward coughed possession up. It was a good counter attacking opportunity for United and one they should probably have made more of.4 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
Van de Beek wins a corner
Van de Beek does well to win United a corner kick, the first decent bit of attacking play from the home side.
Can they get the delivery right here?2 MINS, 0-0SAMUEL LUCKHURST
Liverpool targeting full-back areas
Tottenham targeted United’s full-backs in October due to a lack of protection from the wide players – Rashford and Greenwood. Already, Liverpool have had some joy down both sides with Rashford and Greenwood barely in the picture.
Solskjaer was on at Rashford over his positioning when Liverpool played in Alexander-Arnold to cross. 1 MINS, 0-0DOMINIC BOOTH
VDB involved
It was Van de Beek who actually kicked off for United, with the hosts launching it forward down the left to target Alexander-Arnold.
Looking like the Dutchman will play as United’s No.10 KEY EVENT
