Marcus Rashford launched petition to ‘end child food poverty’ on October 15; MPs voted down Labour Party’s motion to extend free school meals over holidays until Easter 2021 by 322-261 votes last week

An online petition launched by Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford to expand access to free school meals during school holidays has surpassed one million signatures.

The petition titled ‘End child food poverty – no child should be going hungry’, which was launched by England striker Rashford on October 15, passed the milestone mark shortly before 5pm on Wednesday, October 28.
