Men of the Lagos State Police Command have brutalised a PUNCH journalist, Olukayode Jaiyeola, while covering the #RevolutionNow protest in Lagos.

The journalist was recording the arrest and assault on peaceful protesters when the police pounced on him.

He was hit on the head as the journalist was covered in his own blood.

Immediately after brutalizing the journalists, the police officer that assaulted him fled from the scene.

The protest was held to speak against bad governance and demand a reversal to price of fuel in the country.

The Lagos State police command has begun arresting of peaceful protesters in Lagos.

The protesters under the aegis of #RevolutionNow staged the protest to demand for good governance as the country marks its 60th anniversary.

About 20 protesters were arrested by the police who worked together with the Lagos State Task Force.

As at the time of reporting, those arrested were driven to a yet to be known location.
